Treatment Description

Treatments may be sought for rejuvenation, restoration, relaxation, stress and pain reduction, or to address specific health concerns. The Medical Qigong and
Asian Bodywork sections contain general information about treatments.

The one hour session begins with a short interview about your health, which is followed by the actual treatment, and then concludes with gentle movement prescriptions as well as recommended lifestyle changes to increase healing and restoration.

During a treatment, the doctor will emit Qi towards you via highly specialized Qi emission and guiding techniques. The doctor's intention is to purge, strengthen, and regulate your energetic matrix via the acupuncture points, meridians, and/or the internal organs. This is accomplished through physical manipulation (touch) or energetic projection (non touch) in accordance with the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The doctor's aim is to improve your overall health, which may include addressing specific disease patterns.

After treatment, the remaining time is taken to prescribe specific movement and breath exercises for you to practice on your own time. These prescriptions, based in TCM theory, nurture and promote the effects of the treatments, and are tailored to the specific condition or issue you wish to address.

To reap the full benefits, please be prepared to receive several treatments, practice the energetic movement prescriptions, and adhere to suggested lifestyle changes.

Certification Information

Dr. Leichardt is faculty at Five Branches University, where he leads students through the Medical Qigong certification journey towards a 500 hour certificate. He may also certify students as Medical Qigong practitioners through the International Institute of Medical Qigong, the overseas college of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine located in China.
